Dragon Age: The Veilguard Is Getting PS5 Pro Support

Bioware is adding Dragon Age: The Veilguard as yet another title that will support the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro, when the game launches on October 31, 2024. According to Bioware’s studio technical director, Maciej Murowski, the developer will tap into the power up the mid-gen refresh console and will support fidelity and performance modes, as well as Ray Tracing.

  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard fidelity mode: improved resolution with 30FPS
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard performance mode: improved resolution with 60FPS

According to Bioware, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature upgraded image quality thanks to PSSR, the AI-based upscaler which will be the PlayStation 5 Pro’s secret sauce. This will enable the game to include Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) in the 60FPS Performance mode.

So there you have it. I would have liked to know what resolution we’re talking about, but seeing Bioware taking advantage of the console should be interesting to see. I’m still conflicted on if I’ll trade in my current PS5 and pick up a PS5 Pro, but given that we’re seeing more games supported the console, my finger is hovering more and more over that “sell it or trade it” button.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released on October 31, 2024, for the PS5/PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
