Earlier this week we saw Ubisoft pull out of their planned event for the Tokyo Game Show, along with reports that they had canceled upcoming press previews of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Now we have had the unfortunate news via X (formerly Twitter) that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed by a few months. From its original November release to February 14th, 2025, which leaves February looking absolutely stacked. I’m not sure I have seen a stronger lineup of game releases in recent memory. For additional details, you can see the official post from the Assassin’s Creed team below.

As you can see there is some positive news with this delay and that is Assassin’s Creed Shadows will now launch day one on Steam alongside the previously announced platforms. Titles such as Civilization VII, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Avowed, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, to name a few.
I for one, of course, am disappointed by this delay. However, I’ve already waited years for a feudal Japan setting within Assassin’s Creed. So, a few extra months is nothing especially if it helps the team to deliver the best game they can.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not be released on February 14th, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.
