Pretty early in Visions of Mana, you will open up the ability to accomplish side quests. This happens once you reach the town where the Alm of the Wind is located, Longren. One of the first side quests is given to you by Keshi. He lost a letter as it got caught in an updraft and sent out to the world. It will have been sent to the Aery Passage. Due to the number of monsters in this area, Keshi does not want to find the letter alone.
Val will take it upon himself to get the letter back. All you have to do is leave the town from the entrance. That will take you back to the Aery Passage and you will see a circle surrounding a possible location where the letter is located.
Go to the exact location shown in the above image and see a red aura. Go directly to the red aura and you can pick up the letter. Now all you have to do is return to town and hand the letter to Keshi. He will then give you your rewards.
