Announced at IOI‘s post Summer Game Fest 2026 event, Saber Interactive is teaming up with IO Interactive for the Hitman Classic Trilogy. I kid you not when I say this might be my favorite announcement of Summer Game Fest 2026. Having played every Hitman game since the original multiple times, it has always made me sad that the versions of Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts that have native controller support have been trapped on decades old hardware.
I’d love to play these games on PC but they aren’t the type of game that I find myself able to play on mouse and keyboard for accessibility reasons. So, it’s save to say I am absolutely delighted by this news.
Saber Interactive have a long history of developing classics remasters and ports to new systems. They have previously partnered on the highly successful Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and more. Which I believe is a sign that the Hitman Classic Trilogy is in good hands.
So, what exactly do they plan to achieve with these remasters? Well, below there is a list of key features which they have shared with us.
Key Game Features
- Faithfully Restored Visuals: Experience the original trilogy with upgraded character models, enhanced environments, and high-resolution textures.
- Photo Mode: Capture and share your missions with a dedicated photo mode. Frame Agent 47 in action or explore environments in detail.
- Instant Graphics Toggle: Switch seamlessly between the original and enhanced visuals. Play the games as you remember them or rediscover them in a modern light.
- The World Is Your Weapon: Use stealth, tactics, disguises, and the environment itself to infiltrate, execute, and escape. Every mission offers multiple paths, and every decision carries risks.
- Master the Art of the Kill: Plan your approach, adapt when things go wrong, and complete your objectives with precision. Success depends as much on observation and timing as it does on execution.
- Three Games. One Evolution: Experience the progression of Hitman’s design, from open-ended experimentation, to refined stealth systems, to a darker, more psychological tone.
- Play Your Way: Disguise yourself, improvise solutions, and turn mistakes into opportunities. No two approaches are the same, and few plans survive unchanged.
Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027 and is available to Wishlist now.
