Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Preecha Gameplay Revealed

By Kevin KellyAugust 20, 2024

SNK dropped the new Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Preecha gameplay trailer last weekend. SNK also gave us a bit of an idea as to who this new fighter is from her end of the story. We’ve seen some gameplay with her at Summer Games Fest a few months ago. Turns out that Preecha’s in it to win it … for science! To do that, Preecha had to endure the tough training of Fatal Fury’s resident Muay Thai champ – Joe Higashi.

A scientist investigating the wonders and miracles of a fascinating principle known as ki (spirit energy). She also happens to be the star pupil of Joe Higashi, the acclaimed Muay Thai champ himself! While her martial arts talent can’t be denied, that’s not to say she’s only in it to win it either; indeed, Preecha fights for academic purposes, not accolades. She hates the pain, but sure is willing to endure it—as long as it furthers her research into unique and perplexing fight styles.

Preecha does hold some of Joe’s techniques in her kit. Preecha seems to use more of her fists for contact moves and kicks for her tornado moves. Preecha holds some multi-step rekka-based attacks. Her projectile shows that her research is paying off with 75% to 100% screen coverage for a good keep away. Lots of mixup potential with her gameplay. There also seems to be a backstep move with the potential for other follow-up normals called Circular Step. Her Hidden Gear, Preecha’s Last Theorem, does also have some more Joe feels.

SNK has never shied away from having fighters duke it out in museums in either Real Bout Fatal Fury III or King of Fighters, so a planetarium is a fine place for Preecha to call a stomping ground. Kids and robots look on as if the beating is a possible lesson.

Who Else Is Coming To Southtown?

Mia Paige from Genshin Impact voices the scientist. It seems that up to this point, all Fatal Fury City of the Wolves current reveals have gameplay trailers. The next reveal could be coming fairly soon.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be available in early 2025 on PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC through Steam and Epic Game Store.
