Pokemon Van Gogh Card Experience Get Apology From The Pokemon Company

Sometimes…things just don’t go to plan, and that is exactly what happened when the special Pokemon Van Gogh exhibit in Amsterdam finally opened. It was intended to be a unique collaboration between the beloved art museum and the equally beloved entertainment franchise. The highlight of this event was going to be special Pokemon cards that were given out and sold.

However, as we noted in our latest episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, that didn’t go down like it should. Instead of the cards going out to fans, scalpers got the rare cards, and then immediately put them online for outrageous prices.

It was so bad that The Pokemon Company had to send out a special message about things and promised that the Pokemon Van Gogh cards would make another attempt to get into the RIGHT hands later on. You can check out their full message below:

We apologize to all the fans eagerly awaiting our Pokémon Center x Van Gogh Museum release today.

Due to overwhelming demand, all our products from this collection have sold out. We understand this is disappointing to many who were looking to our official email and social media… pic.twitter.com/KM3ZCO1EQZ
