Xbox Games Showcase dated, Starfield delayed to September

Microsoft and Xbox have revealed that its upcoming Summer Xbox Games Showcase has a date and will take place on June 11, 2023. Following this showcase will be a live stream dedicated to Bethesda’s upcoming title Starfield, called ‘Starfield Direct.’

This showcase is special for both Xbox and for the fans as this is where Bethesda will finally provide a lengthy looking at its upcoming title, Starfield. This is what scores of fans, including myself, have been waiting on since Xbox and Bethesda stated the game would receive its own showcase later this year and was missing during the Xbox Developer Direct.

Unfortunately, with the good news comes some bad, as the release date for Starfield has been pushed to September 6, 2023, and it will miss the Summer 2023 season.

I know, I know. We were all waiting to drop everything, sit down this summer, and play Starfield. However, it happens, and you already know my stance on this; if it needs to be delayed, then delay it. Instead, I’d rather play something that has more than enough development time, than play something that runs terribly and needs patch after patch before it’s playable.

So, until then, I’ll wait to see what Bethesda has in store for the #Starfielddirect, and I will have my popcorn in hand when the live stream eventually arrives.
