Is A Kid Icarus Uprising Remaster In The Works?

By Todd BlackJanuary 3, 2023
Kid Icarus, Kid Icarus Uprising

We’re barely into 2023 and things are already happening in terms of video game rumors and speculation. Specifically, there are rumors flying about what might be happening with a certain Nintendo remaster that was revealed via a job listing. Bandai Namco, who has been working with Nintendo a lot over the last few years, made a job listing asking for help with a “3D Action Game.” Naturally, that game will come to the Switch when it’s done, but the question becomes, “what is the game that’s getting remastered?” While there are many answers that could fit the mold, the one everyone is talking about is Kid Icarus Uprising.

The reason for that is because of a video released on Masahiro Sakurai’s YouTube Channel. On one video he talked about the cauldron that would raise or lower the difficulty in Kid Icarus Uprising. He also noted right at the end that he thinks it would be awesome if the game got ported to Switch. Fast forward to now, and this job listing brings that video statement back to life.

Namco is developing an action game remaster in collaboration with Nintendo, but we don't know what it is yet.

Looks like more hiring is being done for that team. The popular prediction is Kid Icarus given the tease Sakurai made on YouTube. https://t.co/t7fRakk13k

We can’t say it’ll happen or that this is the game Bandai Namco is working on…but we can’t deny it either!
