CHAINSAW MAN Main Theme to Anime Series by KENSHI YONEZU

By Josh PiedraOctober 12, 2022
CHAINSAW MAN

Milan Records today releases “KICK BACK,” the opening theme song to the much-awaited new anime series CHAINSAW MAN, by multiplatinum, J-pop singer-songwriter and producer KENSHI YONEZU. Available everywhere now to coincide with the series’ first episode on Crunchyroll, the track features arrangements composed in collaboration with Daiki Tsuneta of King Gnu, one of the most famous and best-selling Japanese bands, and includes samples from J-pop girl group Morning Musume’s single “Souda! We’re Alive.” The upcoming action-horror series is an adaptation of the global manga phenomenon by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which boasts sales of over 15 million copies for Volumes 1-11, with Part 2 currently serialized in Shonen Jump.

CHAINSAW MAN

When the news of Yonezu’s opening theme was announced at the CHAINSAW MAN World Premiere Event on Monday, September 19, Yonezu charted #2 on World Twitter Trend’s chart, and the Teaser video with “KICK BACK” exceeded 12M views in less than three weeks. News of the release of the track was revealed alongside the debut of new cover art with a Chainsaw Man design drawn by Kenshi Yonezu himself.
