Ken’s Street Fighter 6 Bio Explains Why He Looks Different

By Keith MitchellSeptember 15, 2022
Ken Street Fighter 6

Ever since Ken’s Street Fighter 6 design was leaked onto the internet, fans of the series had run rampant regarding the design. We’ve heard theories ranging from Ken having fallen from his graces to him and Eliza being divorced or the more grim theory being that Ken’s son, Mel, had died. However, now that Ken has officially been revealed, Capcom has revealed what actually happened to Ken, and we can say that some people were almost correct.

Judging from Ken’s bio on the Street Fighter 6 website, it would seem that he’s been framed for “orchestrating a criminal plot.” To protect his family, Ken was forced to abandon his family and business to go into hiding, which explains at least why we’re seeing him in old dubs and currently working for Eagle Shipping Company.

It’s like a crime movie. Ken, framed and now on the run as he tries to save his family. Putting his life on the line. Capcom. Do not mess this up!

So I’d imagine while playing through Ken’s story mode, we’ll find out who framed him and see him redeemed at the end. Then we can see him rocking the familiar red gi (and black) that we’re all used to and ditching that tan overcoat.

As a fan of Ken and have been since I first got my first taste of Street Fighter 6. It also doesn’t hurt that we share the same initials. I am being happy that this is the approach Capcom has gone with Ken’s SF6 story. Now we just have to wait until Street Fighter 6 is released, whenever that is in 2023.

Don’t forget to sign up for the Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta that takes place from October 7th – 10th, 2022. This beta will take place across the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with cross-play. The website may be a bit slow to gain access to, but don’t give up.

Street Fighter 6 releases on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) sometime in 2023.
