Nothing like a little sibling rivalry to get the blood pumping, right? Well, The Umbrella Academy Season 3 is going to have two bands of brothers (and sisters) going head-to-head with the Sparrow Academy, the alternate version of the superhero team. Oh, and all of reality is in danger of collapsing. No pressure, though.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 trailer gives us both a look at the members of the Sparrow Academy but also the season’s new ticking clock (which might be getting a bit tired in terms of tropes? Can the world not be on the verge of collapse for like, five minutes?). We also get an interesting little tidbit that in this alternate universe, there will be alternate versions of the Hargeeves siblings running around, which might give us some fun time-and-space shenanigans.
This season is the first to come out since Elliot Page came out as trans. There were questions as to whether the identity of his character would change, which was (somewhat) answered by the official Umbrella Academy Instagram sharing a photo of Page with the caption “Everyone say hello to Viktor Hargreeves.” We will have to see how in the narrative this change is handled, but it looks like Viktor fits right in with his misfit siblings.
The Umbrella Academy Season 3 premieres June 22, 2022 on Netflix.
