Japan Manga Publisher Shueisha Opens Games Division

By Josh PiedraMarch 31, 2022

Shueisha, the popular manga company behind Shounen JUMP (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, My Hero Academia, etc), and its American branch VIZ Media, announced that they are opening up a video game division that is simply called Shueisha Games!

The announcement comes with the introduction of their first four titles!

Shueisha

ONI is a tentatively-titled game that is due out later this year. Platforms for the game have not been announced yet but it is being described as a 3D Action game.

The Tower of Children is described as a roguelike survival game and is due out this Summer.

Captain Velvet Meteor in The Jump+ Dimensions is a Shonen Jump+ tactical action game. Here, the main character Damien moves to Japan and ends up fighting alongside Shonen Jump+ heroes within an imaginary world. This game is coming this Summer on Nintendo Switch.

UKIYO is an adventure game set within the cyberpunk genre with a Japanese aesthetic twist. Right now, the game is due out between this year and 2023.

In addition to these announced titles, Shueisha mentioned that there is a new mobile game in development at an overseas gaming company. No further details were provided on that. There is also a Multiplayer Speed Trick Action Title in the works as well and, just like the mobile game, no details are known but it does show that the company is off to an active start and there is more to look forward to in the future!
