Ok, to be clear here, Nintendo has NOT said that they’re getting into the NFT market, they haven’t said that at all. Rather, they have been dropping a lot of information today via their financial briefing and as a result, the head of the company, Shuntara Furukawa was asked a lot of questions by shareholders and investors. And yes, one of them was about NFTs and even the Metaverse. Here is what he had to say about it:

Now, as the writer of the tweet notes, this is mostly about the Metaverse and not the NFT market specifically. However, it does add up that Nintendo would potentially want to get into that market because of how much it could potentially boost profits. But until they actually start releasing things in that world…let’s not panic. Even though this is what our buddy Will feared would happen in an episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast.
