Crunchyroll will be opening the doors again for fans to reexperience the critically acclaimed feature film Suzume in an all-new 4K Ultra HD remaster and rereleased in SteelBook® on September 22. From visionary director Makoto Shinkai (your name.; Weathering With You; 5 Centimeters per Second), the Annie Award-nominated film (Best Feature, Best Music, Best Storyboarding, Best Voice Acting, Best Writing, Best FX, and Best Character Animation) earned a 96% critics score and 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes making it “Certified Fresh.”
Along with four previously released art cards that came with the Limited Edition of Suzume on Blu-ray™ from Crunchyroll in 2024, the special features in this set will include a roundtable interview with the director, the composer, and the singer/song writer of RADWIMPS; a director’s commentary; a director’s interview; an interview with RADWIMPS, the popular band who contributed to the music and performed multiple songs for the film; a “making of” documentary; and more.
Suzume’s journey begins when she meets a young man looking for a door. Following him, she finds one and reaches for the knob. Doors open across Japan, unleashing destruction. Now Suzume must close them to prevent further disaster.
