Respawns’s original Titanfall title will no longer be sold as of today

By Keith MitchellDecember 1, 2021
Respawn's Titanfall

Today is a sad day for fans of Respawn’s Titanfall. Today, Respawn announced that Titanfall would no longer be sold, while also being pulled from subscription services on March 1st, which means that you won’t see the game sold in EA’s Origin/Play services and Xbox Live. And once local stores no longer have copies of the game, that’s it as well.

Respawn has mentioned it will leave on the servers online (for now), and you will be able to play the game in offline mode. But once the game is no longer for sale, that’s it.

Here’s the tweet posted over on Respawn’s official Twitter account;

As for why this is happening, in a nutshell, just about everyone who played Titanfall had already migrated to Titanfall 2. There’s hardly anyone playing Titanfall online, and that’s just the life cycle of a game. When something better comes along, the community moves to it. It’s a sad send-0ff for a game I spent countless hours playing online with my friends. But as soon as Titanfall 2 was released, I dropped it and never looked up.  So, I suppose I am part of the problem.

Either way, if you’ve never played Titanfall before and you are thinking about doing so. Then you better do it before the game is completely removed, and you can’t purchase it anywhere.

Regardless, Respawn isn’t giving up on the brand and has stated repeatedly that Titanfall is the DNA of the company. Hopefully, this means we’ll get more of Titanfall in the future, in the form ofTitanfall 3 that fans have been asking for.

Titanfall originally released on March 10, 2014, exclusively for Xbox One and PC.
