Nintendo’s final Nintendo Direct of the year promises to be massive

By Keith MitchellSeptember 22, 2021
Nintendo Direct 9.23.2021

Nintendo has just announced its plans for a Nintendo Direct that will take place on September 23rd, 2021. That’s tomorrow!

With Xbox and PlayStation’s digital events already taken place, I suppose Nintendo figured it was their time to show the gaming world just what they have in store. This Nintendo Direct will be hosted on the Nintendo YouTube channel, starting at PM PT / 6 PM ET.

As for what will be shown, Nintendo has been upfront and has stated this showcase will be 40 minutes focused on games that are being released this Winter 2021. Meaning we’re going to get a heaping serving of Metroid Dread, Super Mario Party Superstars, Shin Megami Tensei 5, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl gameplay and info, as these are the upcoming titles being released for the Switch for the remainder of the year. Who knows, we might even get an update on Bayonetta 3, which has been in development limbo for quite some time.

Then there’s the rumor of Nintendo 64 games possibly coming to the Switch. Along with a Nintendo 64 controller, similar to the NES and SNES controllers that were released for Switch Online. It’s quite possible that Nintendo will officially reveal this tomorrow and I hope that they do.

It looks like Nintendo Switch owners are going to be in for a treat.

I also hope Nintendo comes out and announces they’ll have more Metroid Dread Special Editions for sale since they’re nearly impossible to find, outside of buying them off eBay, which I refuse to do.

Either way, don’t miss the Nintendo Direct on 9.23.2021, starting at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET. Of course, you can expect coverage of the event from The Outerhaven.
