Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls just had a Open Beta this past weekend, and with some interesting results. 33,233 concurrent players hit were counted on SteamDB. An incredible feat to beat out various other demos of their time. Surprisingly, Marvel Tokon didn’t hit Multiversus 144,132 concurrent players peak during its beta, but beating out Tekken 8 and Street Fighter VI in their betas is impressive for a new IP.
As we already know, The Promoter and The Champion are confirmed as boss characters of the game in which teams would have to go up against. However, the leaked footage has shown The Champion in a team facing off against another team. From the look of things, this isn’t in the Episode Mode.
Gabrielhrd leaked the fight clip today. The Champion, Ghost Rider, Danger, and Loki, against Captain America, Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man, and Akuma… err Deadpool. The teleport threw me off. The Champion is a boss character, so there’s doubts on him needing an actual force.
It also feels as though The Champion might have a different form opposed to the footage in earlier weeks. A stronger elite form that feels as though he’s a bruiser. Buff, barefoot, brutal, and bigger than even the Hulk. He’s literally looking like Von Ritcher from Darkstalkers here. He has a super move called Big Bang Barrage. There seems to be a Belt mechanic gauge at the bottom of the screen. Perhaps it could give him access to more moves or buffs.
This could be a possible hack, which could have allowed The Champion to be a playable character with some sort of replacement hack. We’ll just have to see on August 6th when the game officially launches. Arc System Works is at the helm, so this could be a reality that folks online will have to face.
