Apparently some people think that Starfield will be released outside of Xbox

By Keith MitchellAugust 30, 2021
Starfield Xbox exclusive

It seems that despite Xbox and Aaron Greenburg confirming that the upcoming Bethesda title Starfield will be an Xbox exclusive title, people are still trying to hold out for hope. More recently, over on Twitter, another attempt to twist the word surrounding the exclusively and has ruffled the feathers of Aaron Greenburg, so he throws down the hammer one more time.

I’m not sure why people are still doing this. It even says “Xbox Exclusive” in the blasted image accompanying the Twitter post.

As you can see below, Twitter user Prophet Mathias is twisting what Aaron has stated, and Aaron isn’t having any of that. Aaron goes on to mention that Starfield is only coming to the Xbox platform and PC via his reply.

See… Now that you said "launching exclusively" they will come back saying it will be released later on other platforms.

We have tried to be as clear as possible, not a timed exclusive, this is simply where the game is being made. 💚

I’m sure many are aware that once Xbox purchased Zenimax and Bethesda, there was little chance that the major titles would head anywhere but on Xbox platforms. Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and whatever future consoles come from Xbox in the future. Unless hell freezes over, I don’t think we’ll ever see any Bethesda titles get released anywhere other than Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, and PC. This includes Starfield, the upcoming  Indiana Jones game, likely the next Elder Scrolls, and anything else from the Bethesda camp. Of course, the only exceptions to this are Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop, which were already under contract to release PlayStation. Barring those two titles, don’t expect anything else anywhere else except for Xbox and PC.

I’m not sure why people are still trying to find ways to twist the words of the Xbox staff and play these games, as it’s a waste of time. We all knew what was going to happen. It’s been stated more than a few times now as well. Yes, I’m not a fan of companies that were once 3rd party companies being gobbled up, with their titles being specific to one platform. I’ve stated that in the past, but that’s sadly the way the game scene is heading.

Still, this bickering, well, it’s getting annoying on so many levels. Yet, I’m sure this will need to be confirmed a few hundred more times prior to the actual release of Starfield.
