The World Ends With You (Subarashiki Kono Sekai)’s debut is just around the corner and already we had to have an alteration done to the tv anime. The opening theme song had to be replaced due to Kahadio, the drummer from the band ALI who did the show’s opening theme, getting arrested.
As of now, no reason for his arrest has been given. ALI created the song “Teenage City Riot” to serve as the show’s opening; however, that will no longer be the case. The new theme song still hasn’t been unveiled as of yet and the show is still slated to begin airing this Friday.
In order to get things situated, do not be surprised if the first episode had the opening edited out. Then again, the first episode of a brand-new anime series typically doesn’t have an opening until its second week anyway so this may not seem so out-of-place to most anime fans.
