October PS Plus Games Include ‘Vampyr’

This October, PlayStation Plus subscribers can download Vampyr and Need for Speed: Payback. It’s always nice when PS Plus offerings around the Halloween season involve a horror game, and this year players can sink their fangs into Vampyr. Need for Speed: Payback doesn’t quite have a seasonal theme, but it’s been some time since we’ve had a racing game on offer. Another strong offering after this past month’s, and if anything it shows that PS Plus offerings aren’t slowing down despite the pending release of the PlayStation 5. If you haven’t picked up last month’s game, you have until October 5th to do so. On October 6th, Vampyr and Need for Speed: Payback will arrive.

October’s first game is Vampyr, an action role-playing game by developer Dontnod Entertainment, which also made the narrative-filled Life is Strange. Vampyr is also a choice based game, as players take on the role of a doctor turned vampire. A tricky situation, as you can either help save the people you’re meant to care for in early 20th century London or feast on them. Hey, either way they may have to donate blood.

Coming around the bend we have Need for Speed: Payback, one of the newest installments from the long-running racing franchise developed by Ghost Games. The game includes a total of 74 vehicles that players can drive around an open-world setting. In addition to multiplayer, it also features a single-player campaign focused around pulling off heists as one of three different characters in the story.

So turn off the lights, break out the candy bowl, and get your blood pumping with the horrors of Vampyr or the adrenaline rush of Need for Speed: Payback. According to the PlayStation Blog, the two games will stick around for players to download until November 2nd, make sure you get them before going into a Halloween candy induced sugar-coma.
