September PS Plus Games Include ‘Street Fighter V’

This September, PlayStation Plus subscribers can download Street Fighter V and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (aka PUBG). Lately, PS Plus has seemed to stick to a theme each month, and this month seems to be classic games on the PlayStation 4. Street Fighter V came out all the way back in 2016, which believe it or not was already three years after the console’s debut. PUBG came out in 2017, continuing the trend of September offering classic PS4 games. This makes sense, as this past month saw the service offering two practically brand new games, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. If you have yet to download these two, you have until August 31st to do so. After that, Street Fighter V and PUBG will become available on September 1st.

While it’s been out for a few years now, Street Fighter V  is still the latest entry in the Street Fighter series, and for good reason. It marks a good entry point in the fighting-game series, with both single-player and online multiplayer. Sure, Street Fighter fans have mixed feelings about it, but let’s face it, if you loved the series you probably owned this one already. Even though it came out four years ago, the game still receives regular updates and even new DLC, so for those who haven’t experienced a Street Fighter game before, it’s a good time to jump in.

If you enjoyed the online mayhem of Fall Guys this past month, you may want to check out another battle royale game. While PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is hardly the first battle royale game, it arguably brought the genre into the mainstream. Inspired by the classic Japanese film Battle Royale, PUBG sees ninety-nine players placed into a large arena fighting to remain the last player or team alive. Again, it’s a game that’s been out for some time, but now marks a good time to return, as just the other week cross-play was announced, so players on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to see who reigns supreme.

While this month saw newer games arriving to PlayStation Plus, September will celebrate some classics. Hopefully these are game that you don’t already have, but if they are, it might be a good chance to go back to them with the renewed interest that will come to the online communities this coming month. According to the PlayStation Blog, Street Fighter V and PUBG will stick around for PS Plus members to download until October 5th.
