343 Industries brings Joseph Staten, Halo Infinite is NOT being canceled for Xbox One.

We all know that 343 Industries has delayed Halo Infinite as they want the game to be the best that it can be. A delay, that may have frustrated many as it leaves the Xbox Series X without its original launch title, is the right move. Now the team has made another right move by bringing back a veteran in the form of Joseph Staten. Many Halo faith will remember the name from his days of working on the series when Bungie was the developer.

I'm thrilled to join @Halo to help them ship Halo Infinite. As the project lead for the Infinite Campaign, I will be supporting the team's existing, great leaders and empowering them to do their best work. https://t.co/pQiNPQVBZs

Joesph will be jumping into action and will serve as the Project Lead for Halo Infinite’s Campaign. Now, while it’s nice to see him back working on the Halo series, it’s important to point out that he will not be involved in Halo Infinite’s glaring issue; the visuals or performance. He’ll be working on the narrative, the story and that’s it. Will the game be better with him on board? Well, we can’t say as no one outside of the Microsoft and 343 Industries circles can know anything about the campaign. We can only hope.

As for the rumors of Halo Infinite being scrapped or the Xbox One, 343 Industries has come out and squashed all of that noise. 343 Industries Community Manager, John Junyszek, took to Twitter and addressed the rumor and confirmed there are no plans to change the release platforms for Halo Infinite.

we’re seeing lots of fake “leaks” out there, so please don’t believe everything you read. There are no plans to change our 2021 release or the devices and platforms we’ll be supporting. We’re building Halo Infinite to be the best it can be on each device/platform

Hey Eric – we're seeing lots of fake "leaks" out there, so please don't believe everything you read. There are no plans to change our 2021 release or the devices and platforms we'll be supporting. We're building Halo Infinite to be the best it can be on each device/platform 👊

Meaning Halo Infinite will be playable on the Xbox One, alongside the Windows 10 and Xbox Series X versions. That’s not to say they may not have to make any performance sacrifices down the road, but Xbox One owners will don’t want to upgrade will be able to experience the latest Master Chief outing.

As for a release date, all we know is that Halo Infinite will release sometime in 2021. We’ll know more about a possible release date, hopefully at the end of 2020 or early 2021.
