“Project L” is Riot’s Long-Awaited Fighting Game

Riot Games’ fighting game has got to be one of the worst kept secrets in the industry. Ever since the company acquired Radiant Entertainment, the developer of the PC fighting game Rising Thunder, in 2016, everyone has been waiting for Riot to come out and officially announce a fighting game. Well, after an official confirmation at EVO 2019, we finally have our first look at Riot’s fighting game, codenamed “Project L.”

Project L

Now, Project L is still very early in development and is likely not due out until late next year at the earliest (Riot stated it still has “a long way to go”), but we do know some things about it. Unlike Riot’s other recently announced title, the competitive FPS “Project A,” Project L is set in the League of Legends universe. The game will show Jinx, Katarina, Darius, Ahri, and other Runeterran champions “in a new light” according to Riot.

There’s currently no release window for Project L, but Project A should be out sometime next year. League of Legends is also coming to mobile and consoles in the form of League of Legends: Wild Rift, which aims to adapt the PC MOBA experience for other platforms.

When he's not playing video games, Diego's talking about video games, and he does both a lot.
