Riot Games has shared a clearer picture of the future of Riftbound’s competitive scene,
…outlining both its tournament structure and the remaining major events scheduled through the end of 2026.
Riftbounds latest State of the Game presentation confirms that Organized Play will span everything from weekly local store events to annual World Championships. Local players can expect the normal weekly Nexus Nights, Pre-Rift events, and the new monthly Nexus Cups. I am looking forward to a more formalized 2v2 format at some point.
On the competitive side, Riot is building a layered system featuring Challenge Series, Showdown Series, three Regional Championships per set, annual Continental Championships, and an annual World Championship.
The roadmap also locks in several major events for the rest of 2026:
- Regional Qualifier, Barcelona: August 21-23
- Regional Qualifier, Singapore: September 4-6
- Regional Qualifier, Los Angeles: September 25-27
- European Regional Championship, Stuttgart: November 6-8
- Convergence Fest & North American Regional Championship, Las Vegas: December 11-13
While many trading card games launch with local events first and expand later, Riot appears to be laying the groundwork for a complete competitive ecosystem from the outset. Between weekly store play, regional events, and yearly championships, players will have multiple paths to compete regardless of experience level. I mean they have been running worldwide championships for League of Legends, so they know what they’re doing.
With Vendetta now in players’ hands and more sets already on the roadmap, Riot continues to invest heavily in Organized Play as one of Riftbound’s long-term pillars.
