John Wick Hex Hits the Epic Games Store on October 8

By Diego PerezSeptember 19, 2019
John Wick Hex

John Wick Hex, the strategy game from the creator of Thomas Was Alone, finally has a set release date. The game will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store on October 8. The game isn’t a turn-based strategy game, but you plan your moves ahead of time, with actions playing out in real-time for both you and your opponents after you make a selection. It’s an interesting gameplay style, and you can check out the trailer below.

John Wick Hex aims to translate the perfectly choreographed action of the films to a video game. Rather than focusing on the action of the John Wick films, Bithell Games chose to focus on the strategy and thought that John Wick puts into each of his combat encounters. There are a lot of features in Hex that can throw a wrench into your plans, like ammo being finite. Choosing when and how to reload, or if you should just throw your empty gun at an enemy instead, can be the difference between life and death in John Wick Hex, and it’s an interesting way to tackle a John Wick video game.

Some of the actors from the films, like Ian McShane and Lance Reddick, will reprise their roles in John Wick Hex, and Troy Baker is voicing the game’s original antagonist. Unfortunately, Keanu Reeves hasn’t been confirmed for John Wick Hex.

John Wick Hex will launch on the Epic Games Store on October 8. The game is planned for a console release, but the release window is currently unknown.

When he's not playing video games, Diego's talking about video games, and he does both a lot.
