E3 2019: Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass For PC Has Leaked, New Xbox PC App In Action

Windows 10 Xbox App Screenshot-02

We’re a few hours away from Microsoft’s E3 2019 briefing and already it looks like we’ve stumbled on to another part of their show. It’s been speculated that Xbox Game Pass would be introduced with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Now it looks like this may actually be correct.

Not only have multiple sources shown off the new Xbox app, which will be used on Windows 10 in place of the Microsoft Store. But we’ve been able to confirm something Xbox Game Pass for PC is indeed ready to go. Currently, if you go to the link, it tells you the price of the service. Which is listed at $4.99, but as of this moment there’s a price drop to $1. Which is exactly the same price as the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for Xbox Insiders.

While I’m not able to join as I am already part of the Ultimate pass, when I log in I am able to manage the Xbox Game Pass PC account. Which is not something I own. Meaning this is definitely part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The next confirmation is when I downloaded the new Xbox App, which isn’t readily available as of yet.

But the final proof is right here. When going to any game in the app, you’re able to select it and install it. Again, since I have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, I’m able to install the games. As you can see in the screenshot below, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is included with XGP. Or Xbox Game Pass for PC.

After browsing the store for a bit, this is definitely way better than the previous Windows / Microsoft Store experience. Browsing is fast and responsive, downloads give you a status, you can pause them and they install without any issues and even install to other drives in your PC. There’s even an option that lets the application randomly pick a game for you to play. We’re going to play with it some more, but Microsoft has a winner here for Windows 10.

Update: The Xbox PC app in action can be seen below.

Microsoft’s E3 2019 conference is scheduled for June 9 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET. Expect the company to throw lots of gaming tidbits at us. This includes Project xCloud, their next generation of consoles, as well as 14 first-party titles. Let’s also not forget their PC gaming plans as they recently announced Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox Studios published titles will now make their way to Steam.

Keep in mind that Microsoft will be hosting a Mixer Pot for those who have a Mixer account. A Mixer Pot hasn’t been announced, but they are digital goodies such as games, DLC, in-game accessories and more. Last year they gave away an Outer Wilds Full Game Pre-Order, Gears of War 4 Microsoft Studios Skin, TERA E3 2018 Bundle, and a Halo 5 Classic Helmet REQ Pack.
