Tomokazu Seki Cast as Kunishige Rokuhira!
Tomokazu Seki will play Kunishige Rokuhira, the father of Chihiro Rokuhira. To commemorate the announcement, comments have arrived from Seki.
Q. What are your impressions of the character you voice, and what did you keep in mind while voicing them?
Kunishige Rokuhira is a legendary swordsmith, but at the same time, he is also a warmhearted father. I voiced the role with the aim of conveying the charm of both of those sides naturally. I would be happy if viewers could feel the bright and fun nature of his everyday humorous side, as well as the weight behind every single word in the scenes where he speaks of his convictions as a swordsmith.
Q. How did you feel when you were cast, and what are your thoughts on the anime?
I was truly happy when I got the role of Kunishige Rokuhira. Kagurabachi is a series loved by so many fans, and Kunishige is an important presence in the story. I’m doing my best to convey the manga’s passion and the feelings of the characters in a way that only anime can.
Q. What were your thoughts when you first read the manga?
When I first read the manga, my impression was, “This is such a passionate series!” Not only does it have powerful action scenes, but emotions like resolve, loss, and revenge are also depicted with real depth, and I was drawn in immediately. It also has unique worldbuilding, making it the kind of series where you keep wanting to know what happens next.
Q. What is Kunishige’s greatest charm?
I think Kunishige’s charm lies in the strength with which he upholds his convictions, as well as his ability to love deeply. I’m also the type of person who throws myself completely into the things I love, so I may relate to him a little in that sense.
Q. How would you describe the appeal of the series in one phrase?
“A spirit passed down.”
