Preload the open beta for The Division 2 right now

Ahead of this weekend’s upcoming open beta for The Division 2, Ubisoft has announced that preloading the game is now available. This means that if you plan on checking out the beta, you can save some time and get it installed. Which is a win in my eyes, unless you like waiting.

So what can you expect in the upcoming open beta? According to Ubisoft, quite a lot actually. The open beta will include three solo or co-op missions, with one being new to the open beta. That’s in addition to the five available side missions, PVP/Dark Zone activities and access to some endgame content. The level cap is also being raised to level eight, one level higher than the closed beta.

The Division 2 Roadmap

As speculated, there are also a host gameplay tweaks making their way into the beta as well, according to Ubisoft.

For the Open Beta, we have made many improvements to The Division 2 based on the testing and feedback from the Private Beta. Overall, we have worked hard on the technical side of the game and further improved server and client stability and performance. We have also made further optimizations to make the game run smoother.

Our game design team has worked hard on the balance of the game as well and we are testing those changes during the Open Beta. This is a very important part of the game experience and we really want to hear your opinion on how it feels. You can see the full list of the balance changes below, for both NPCs and weapon balance. Based on player feedback, we have also made changes to the Call for Backup system.

For a complete list of changes, check out the post here.

Just like the closed beta, the open beta won’t be under an NDA. As such, you’re free to record game footage, stream the game and talk about everything you loved or didn’t enjoy, with the internet. Do you hear that? Let’s see those impression pieces, videos and provide even more feedback for Ubisoft to go over. Let’s help make this game the best it can be.

The Division 2 open beta will start on on / March 1, 2019, 1AM PST / 4AM EST, and will conclude on March 5, 2019 at 1AM PST / 4AM EST.

The Divison 2 releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 15, 2019.
