Now you can get a Xbox One Elite controller in white

Ok, that’s pretty damned sexy

The rumors and speculation about a new Xbox One Elite controller have been making the rounds for some time. The last rumor was that we’d see it during Gamescom 2018. Funny enough, Microsoft did tease a hardware announcement but pulled it prior to the event starting up. Shortly afterward, we heard that a new controller would be released in October.

So guess what just appeared out of nowhere? Yep, a new Xbox One Elite controller and this one is white. [masterslider id=”291″]

Could this be the Washburn controller revision? Maybe, but we haven’t seen any official confirmation from Microsoft as of yet. That said, there’s also a white Xbox One X console being released around the same time. So this simply could be a color swap for the console as well. As far as I can see, there’s nothing new on this controller. And for those interested, it still takes AA batteries.

Update 2: I did some digging. This is exactly the same as the original Xbox One Elite controller. Meaning it’s not a refresh, nor does it have any Bluetooth capabilities. So if you want to use it on a Windows 10 PC, you’ll need a Windows Xbox One wireless adapter. That’s a bit of a bummer.

Either way, this new controller is up for pre-order over at Gamestop and Microsoft’s online store, right now. It’s listed for $149.99, which is the same price as the original Xbox One Elite controller.

And I won’t lie, this controller looks pretty damned sexy. Regardless if it turns out to be Washburn or not. Though, I would have loved if the buttons had light gree (Xbox green) highlights along the letters. If I didn’t already own an Elite controller, I’d have you run out and get this when it gets released. Oh, who am I kidding, you know I’m going to get it anyway.

Update: There’s a video for this new controller.
