SDCC 2018: The Aquaman Trailer Arrives…Long Live The King

Aquaman Trailer

To say there’s a lot of pressure on the Aquaman movie is an understatement. This is the only DC Comics film of the live-action variety coming out this year (Teen Titans Go To The Movies arrives next week), and given that Marvel had both Black Panther and Infinity War release this year, DC and Warner Bros needs to prove that they can still hold their own while delivering epic and unique experiences that even Marvel and Disney can’t do. Thankfully, the Aquaman Trailer seems to deliver that in spades.

Showing during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the long-awaited trailer showed just about everything it could to get people excited for the film. We got our first true look at Atlantis, which seems like a very sprawling kingdom, just like it’s portrayed in the comics. We got our first in-depth looks at Ocean Master and Black Manta, both of whom look pretty epic.

And for those hoping that Mera and Aquaman would truly get their due, it seems we’ll be getting that in spades as well. But unlike in past films, we’ll get to see not only the backstory of Arthur Curry, but see some of his vulnerable side as well.

Oh, and if you’re looking for epic action, the Aquaman Trailer shows a great war happening in the oceans, and it’s going to be epic when it comes in full to the big screen, count on it.

Aquaman arrives in theaters on December 21st, and be sure to let us know what you thought of the trailer below.
