Every Xbox 360 Halo Title Is Now Playable On Xbox One

What’s old is new again

Previously only Halo Reach (my favorite) was playable on the Xbox One, via backward compatibility. That all changes today thanks to the announcement of Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4 and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary now also playable, thanks to backward compatibility.  With this act, every Xbox 360 Halo title is now playable on the Xbox One. If you’re a Halo fan, that’s great news. If you didn’t pick up the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it’s even better news.

Halo titles on display

Each title will be is available via the Xbox Live Store, except the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. However, Microsoft assures us that won’t be the case for long. Multiplayer will also be accessible via Xbox Live, so you can still go online and frag some kills.

What hasn’t mentioned been if any of these games have any frame rate or any performance impacting issues. Though I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough – isn’t that right, internet?

If you parted with your Xbox 360 Halo titles previously, now might be the time to pick them up for cheap either used or via the Xbox Live Store.
