Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions Unveiled!

By Tyler KelbaughJune 13, 2017

The rumors were true! Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is coming to 3DS on October 6th! This time, however, a whole new bonus story featuring Bowser’s minions. The full game is called Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga was released back in November of 2003. It started the popular handheld Mario RPG series, and still is considered the best in the franchise by many. The remake seems to be limited in terms of new features for the main game, although some smart combat tweaks have been added. Players can now use the emergency guard, and it seems super powered versions of the classic bro moves have been added as well.

Bowser’s Minion’s story complements the main game and runs parallel to its events. Players will command an army of Bowser’s Minions against a computer army, issuing orders as the minions fight automatically. There are some action commands involved as well, so adding a little bit of familiarity to the new mode.

Reggie Fils-Aime promised a big showing from the 3DS at E3, and he has certainly delivered. An all new 2D Metroid game will release this September, joining Superstar Saga and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon to close out the year.
