Mass Effect 2 Now Free On Origin for Limited Time

By Keith MitchellJanuary 5, 2017

While Mass Effect: Andromeda may be the talk of the town, Mass Effect 2 is still damned good.  That said, EA wants to make sure you don’t forget about it and put it up on Origin for free, but for a limited time. A free game is a free game, right? Now is the perfect time to pick up the title if you missed out on it when it was free on December 20th, 2016.

Typically Mass Effect 2 on Origin will run you about $19.99 for the standard edition. So scoring the title for free is a good deal to me.  Just fire up Origin and search it in the store or head to it via this link. Or, if you want to get access to the soundtrack and a few pieces of DLC, the Deluxe version is also available. Just remember that it isn’t free.

If you plan on playing the title via gamepad/controller, you’ll have to download and install a 3rd party mod. The game doesn’t have any official controller support and Bioware never patched it in, seeing how it might have cut into the Xbox 360 sales of the title. Download the mod here.

Pick it up now before it’s gone and give it a playthrough. There might not be able more time if you want, seeing how Mass Effect: Andromeda will be launching globally on March 21st, 2017.

Oh, before I forget. I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite shop!
