NieR:Automata is the follow-up to the immensely popular NieR, which was originally released on the PlayStation 3. Set in the midst of a proxy war between machines created by otherworldly invaders and the remnants of humanity, the story follows the battles of combat android 2B, her companion 9S, and the obsolete prototype A2. NieR:Automata.
In this new trailer, we get a look at the characters we’ll encounter during the game. Some new, some are characters we’ve met before during NeiR. Needless to say, spoilers are in this trailer.
NieR:Automata is currently being shown off at the 2016 Toyko Game Show and has a release date of early 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Nier: Automata is being developed by Platinum Games and is being published by Square Enix.
