Everything Announced during the EA Play 2016 Conference

By Mark SullivanJune 12, 2016

This year’s a bit different for Electronic Arts. While still participating in the press conference extravaganza for E3 2016, EA is hosting their own event outside of the event, called EA Play 2016. Kicking off the conferences with a handful of announcements, here’s everything they had to show in their keynote:

  • Titanfall 2 trailer released for multiplayer and single player (again), releasing October 28, 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One
  • New trailer for Madden NFL 17 released
  • EA games getting a competitive initiative with “Challenger,” “Premiere,” and “EA Major” events for differing degrees of competition
  • Mass Effect: Andromeda is powered by Frostbite, behind the scenes video with game footage shown. Read more here
  • Play to Give initiative announced, special game challenges with proceeds going to charities
  • FIFA 17 getting a story mode called “The Journey” starring Alex Hunter, premiere league managers in the game, new gameplay trailer shown. Read more here
  • EA Originals program announced in support of smaller developers, first game revealed called Fe. Read more here
  • Star Wars video shown detailing upcoming game projects. Read more here
  • Battelfield 1 gameplay trailer shown, with livestream of gameplay following the show

That about wraps up everything EA had to show. Anything you’re particularly excited for? Let down by what they had to show? Let us know in the comments below.

Mark is a student in Philadelphia currently working towards a B.S. in Information Science & Technology. Starting in 1998 with a hand-me-down PS1 and the demo for Spyro The Dragon (which he played COUNTLESS times), his love of gaming soon elevated when he borrowed Final Fantasy VII from a friend for the first time. Now he's an avid collector, a semi-expert trophy hunter, and an overall lover of video games. Favorite games are Final Fantasy VII (I know, deal with it), Metal Gear Solid 2, Resident Evil 4, Dark Souls, and Psychonauts, to name a few.
