Dishonored 2 Comics and Novels Coming This Year

By Cody MaynardMay 25, 2016

Bethesda has announced via a blogpost that the upcoming Dishonored 2, coming November 11th, will be seeing some expanded lore in the form of a comic book miniseries and a trilogy of novels. Both are set in the years after Dishonored and will branch events between the two games.

So far, 4 issues of the comic have been announced, with Issue #1 releasing August 3rd, and the other three coming in September and October. There will also be a collection of all four issues hitting shelves in November.

A small quote about the direction of the comics reads,

“Set 12 years after the events of the first game, the four-part series will follow the supernatural assassin Corvo Attano as he searches for an apprentice and confronts faces from his past.”

The novels sound pretty cool too, and will actually expand the events of the series past Dishonored 2. The first of the books, Dishonored—The Corroded Man, will come in September, connecting the two games. The rest of the trilogy will wrap up throughout 2017, and will continue the stories of Corvo and Emily Kaldwin.

I’m all for expanding this series in as many ways as possible, but let’s hope it doesn’t go the way of the recent Dark Souls foray into the world of comics. As for the novels, I’m interested to see how they read and how well they describe the decaying Dunwall.
