WWE Pay-Per-View Predictions: WWE Fastlane 2016

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieFebruary 21, 2016

WWE Fastlane Kickoff:
2 out of 3 Falls for the WWE United States Championship – Kalisto (c) v. Alberto Del Rio

20160201_1920x1080_FastlaneMATCH_KalistoDelRio

Clinton: It’s hilarious to see this get bumped to the pre-show, however, I do like the idea of it. These two are pretty much what you get when you go full Lucha Libre in the WWE, a rudo in Alberto Del Rio vs. a técnico in Kalisto. One thing that bothered me about this feud, outside of being a result of John Cena getting injured…AGAIN…was how the title was hot potatoed between Kalisto and Del Rio before the Rumble. I’m hoping to see a long reign as United States Champion out of Kalisto, and as a result, that’s my pick for tonight, 2 falls to 1.

Joshua: Here is your pre-show kickoff match. Why this isn’t being blown off on PPV is beyond me.. but aside from that one ugly botch by Kalisto in their last encounter, these two can put on a show. I think del Rio takes the first fall and they get Kalisto over by having him take two straight after that and retain the championship.  If the League of Nations was still a thing, I’d pick del Rio all the way, but Sheamus is hurt, Wade Barrett is possibly on his way out, and what in the hell is Rusev even doing these days?  Yeah, that stable is done.. no reason for del Rio to hold the belt. Kalisto can be the next Rey Misterio Jr and if WWE wants to build him as such, they’ll let him keep the title.
