Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Direct Gives Us New Details

Today was the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Nintendo Direct. It was a full 20-minute direct showcasing what to expect from the game coming to Nintendo Switch.

You get to create the Miis in the game that reside in Tomodachi Life. The experience for the game will differ from a user-to-user standpoint due to the Miis in their game. You can get help with the Tomodachi Life: Living the Life creator, or you can create it yourself from scratch. Miis have a gender, as well as a gender preference for a dating partner.

You will want to make sure that you create a variety of Miis on your island. Otherwise, your Mii will get bored and lonely pretty quickly. The Nintendo Direct basically tells a whole narrative about Angie, who goes from being lonely to helping people get along, and even finds love. There is an MNN news station that will show news stories. These news stories are rewatchable too. Residents will give you ideas to help you build up your personal island.

You can customize quirks for the Miis in your island. Some have sentence quirks like adding phrases at the end of sentences. Others have physical ones, like wiping their face every so often.

One of the wildest scenes in the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Nintendo Direct is the confession scene with Angie and Hugh Morris. Angie takes him on a Ferris Wheel to confess her love to him, and it turns into two other people confessing their love to Hugh Morris, too. There are going to be so many random things happening with each new Mii in the game.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream comes to Nintendo Switch on April 16th, 2026.
