The Super Mario Bros Movie Has Been Nominated For Three Golden Globes!

By Todd BlackDecember 11, 2023
Super Mario Bros Movie, Golden Globes, Nintendo

It’s funny how things can work out over a year. If you look at this point last year, it’d be fair to say that not many people were looking forward to The Super Mario Bros Movie for various reasons. One such reason was the quality of video game movies overall, and Chris Pratt as Mario is still debated today. However, once it reached the box office, it did well and grossed over a billion dollars! Then, fast forward to now, the Golden Globes have nominated it for three awards!

As one would likely guess, the Super Mario Bros Movie was nominated for “Best Animated Film,” it was also nominated for “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement,” likely for hitting the one billion mark at the box office, which isn’t something that a lot of films did this year, including several MCU films.

The final thing the film was nominated for was “Best Original Song.” Yep. “Peaches” is nominated for Best Original Song, and that means we’re one step closer to a Jack Black performance live! Fun times.

Even if the movie doesn’t win any of these awards, it’s still a really cool thing, and something for Nintendo to hang its hat on.
