While Nintendo and FromSoftware have gone quiet ever since The Duskbloods was announced, the upcoming multiplayer PvPvE Soulslike title finally resurfaced during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct with some big news.
According to the pair, The Duskbloods will be getting a Closed Network Test during Summer 2026. Now, as someone who has been a fan of FromSoftware and its titles for a while now, there is usually a process to these things. First comes the CNT, which is used to determine how well the network and servers hold up once players get their hands on it. Then, a few months down the line, we usually see either another CNT or a full release of the game.
That leads me to believe that perhaps the official release for The Duskbloods is still a bit further away than some of us may have hoped. Of course, that is just speculation on my part, but anyone who has followed FromSoftware’s network tests in the past knows that these things usually happen for a reason.
For those who may have missed the original reveal, The Duskbloods is a multiplayer action title that puts up to eight players online against each other and the game’s enemies. Players take on the role of the Bloodsworn, beings who have gained power through special blood, all while fighting for something called First Blood as humanity’s twilight draws near. It definitely sounds like FromSoftware is trying something different here, and that is exactly why I want to see how this Closed Network Test plays out.
Sadly, we did not get to see anything new for the game during this Closed Network Test reveal. Still, if you have been following The Duskbloods, I suppose any news is good news at this point.
The Duskbloods is currently in development exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.
