Tactical RPG Unicorn Overlord gets 8-minutes of gameplay footage

Not long ago, Atlus and Vanillaware, the same companies that gave the world Odin’s Sphere, Princess Crown, and one of my favorites, Dragon’s Crown, revealed the tactical fantasy RPG title Unicorn Overlord. Today, new information regarding the title and 8 minutes of footage was revealed thanks to Famitsu.

When the title was revealed, I wondered when we’d get to see some gameplay, and now that we have it, I have to say I’m impressed. This video shows several of the game’s mechanics, including map exploration, management of the armies you’ll command, combat, some good-looking food, and so much more. The game reminds me of several tactical RPG titles, including Suikoden, Fire Emblem, and Dragon Force, one of my favorites from the Sega Saturn days.

Man, that art style is freaking amazing, if I do say so myself. Just seeing it in action is a thing of beauty, and if the gameplay is as good as this is, then Vanillaware will have another hit on its hands.

Check out the video below and get excited about this upcoming title, like I am.

The tactical fantasy RPG Unicorn Overlord will launch on March 8th, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
