EA and Bit Reactor released a new trailer for Star Wars: Zero Company at Summer Game Fest 2026 yesterday. The title features tactical gameplay set in the Clone Wars era of the Star Wars story, similar to titles such as XCOM. Jedi, droids, Mandalorians, and bounty hunters are at your disposal. Unit customization of appearances and skills to complete missions and defeat enemies seems to be in. Former Military Captain of the Galaxy Republic Hawks is the leader of sorts who recruits the various characters to join the Zero Company. The game promises a cinematic story to boot.
Star Wars Zero Company’s visual storytelling and gameplay will immerse players in a tense, clandestine conflict taking place in the shadows of the Clone Wars. Players will step into the shoes of former Galactic Republic officer Hawks and the current leader of Zero Company.
In Star Wars Zero Company, customization is central to the experience. Hawks and recruited Operators can be created from eight iconic Star Wars species: Devaronian, Human, Neimoidian, Ovissian, Togruta, Twi’lek, Weequay and Zabrak. Voices, outfits, and many other aspects of Hawks’ and an Operator’s appearance can be customized over time, along with specializations and talents. The main villain has also been revealed as Kundri Fathom of the Infinite Coil faction, which is aligned with the Dark Side of the Force. The cult is poised to unleash a plague that can level the galaxy unless they’re stopped, and Hawks is the guy to do it to an extent.
From Zero Company’s base of operations, The Den, players will recruit and develop Operators’ skills, upgrade facilities, purchase new equipment, and select their next mission from the holotable. On the battlefield, players will develop bonds between authored characters and player-created Operators, unlocking new support abilities, including cross-training benefits that improve their abilities and stats. Players will navigate an ever-changing galaxy map featuring more than 150 planets, where each choice can change how their journey unfolds.

It seems the game takes cues from XCOM, as units can also fall victim to permadeath. Bonds can be forged with units to add more synergy to the team in terms of in battle perks and abilities. It seems to have nearly any race available, including that of even Darth Maul’s. Feels as though there’s enough to throw a Thermal Detonator at in terms of party members. There are hints of famous Star Wars characters joining the game, such as Anakin Skywalker, who appears at the end of the trailer.
Star Wars: Zero Company is coming August 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Preorders are live now.
