Kakao Entertainment’s leading K-pop artists have landed on Billboard’s Best K-Pop Songs and Best K-Pop Albums of 2026 (So Far) lists, gaining global recognition for their distinctive sounds and musical identities.
The news comes shortly after WOODZ and KiiiKiii were featured on U.S. music publication THE FADER’s “The 30 Best Albums of 2026 So Far,” further showcasing the growing global stature of Kakao Entertainment’s label artists. These showcase the company’s comprehensive music business ecosystem, driven by its robust management infrastructure, strategic distribution network, and deep expertise across the music IP business. With these strengths, Kakao Entertainment supports not only its label artists but also those from SM Entertainment – such as aespa and RIIZE who also appeared on the aforementioned Billboard lists – as well as other talented singers. The company helps accelerate their global activities, thereby broadening K-pop’s reach worldwide.
Best K-Pop Songs of 2026: WOODZ, KiiiKiii
Billboard unveiled its Best K-Pop Songs of 2026 list on July 15 (U.S. time,) picking KiiiKiii’s “404 (New Era)” – the lead track from the group’s second EP “Delulu Pack” – as No. 1. The magazine noted that KiiiKiii doesn’t just imagine the new era but pulls listeners fully inside it. Highlighting the group’s ambition to lead a new era, Billboard commented: “From a group barely a year into its career, that could read as overreach, but instead it’s full of conviction, sold by a performance bold enough to make the boast stick. ‘404’ is no error. It’s a revolution.”
WOODZ also appeared on the list with “CINEMA,” a pre-release single from his first full-length album “Archive. 1.” Billboard emphasized how the rock-pop track balances hard-rock harmonies with soft, introspective moments, delivering the emotional edge that has made so many of WOODZ’s past releases “engrossing and helped ‘Drowning’ become such an enduring hit.” The publication also praised his upper register, noting that his chorus performance stands out as “one of the year’s most expressive vocal performances.”
Best K-Pop Albums of 2026: WOODZ, KiiiKiii, MONSTA X
Kakao Entertainment label artists also made their mark on Billboard’s Best K-Pop Albums of 2026 list, unveiled on July 20.
WOODZ’s “Archive. 1” ranked No. 7 on the list, with Billboard describing it as a “sprawling, 17-track statement that sounds more akin to ‘90s experimental rock than WOODZ’s boy-band idol origins.” Pointing to the album’s musical direction, Billboard added that “WOODZ leans harder into rock and crossover-ready English than ever, cementing himself as one of this generation’s most restless, genre-fluid soloist.”
KiiiKiii’s “Delulu Pack” also made it onto the list, further proving the album’s artistic strength. Billboard said that KiiiKiii reaches for images and music from before its members were born, then translates them into a language native to the present. It added, “The strategy extends from lyrics, visuals and styling into U.K. garage, disco, hip-hop and retro pop.”
MONSTA X’s sub-unit SHOWNU X HYUNGWON’s “LOVE ME” was also recognized, with Billboard highlighting the duo’s sensitivity and quiet weight. After praising the tracks, the publication commented, “Together, these songs reveal a form of masculinity that MONSTA X rarely has room to foreground. The softness previously glimpsed away from the stage now meets some of contemporary pop’s most current sounds without friction.”
