Samson: A Tyndalston Story has officially launched on PC, but instead of a smooth debut, the game has arrived with mixed reactions driven by performance issues, bugs, and technical problems. It’s not that the game lacks potential, it’s that it clearly needed more development time. We even admitted in our Samson review that the game clearly has some issues.
Still, its developer, Liquid Swords, isn’t backing away from the situation. Founder and Creative Director Christofer Sundberg has addressed the subpar launch head-on, acknowledging the issues and outlining what comes next. In a recent statement, Sundberg confirmed that the team is already working on improvements, with a massive patch scheduled for April 8, 2026.
It’s launch day and Samson is here. We have been having a lot of fun watching folks have fun with the game, and we released a game with flaws for a number of reasons. Early impressions are mixed, and many of you are experiencing game-breaking bugs and performance issues. That’s unacceptable, and we are listening to everyone’s feedback and are hard at work to deliver the game we spent years of our lives developing.
Launching a game is a ton of work, and I’m proud of the effort our team has put into seeing Samson from its initial concept through release.
We are committed to the future of both Samson and Tyndalston, and this game will grow over time across all fronts: quality, gameplay, and content. Thank you all for supporting us and sticking with us on this exciting launch day. We will continue to keep our ears to the ground and improve the game with your support.

All of this points to a game that likely needed more time before release but now finds itself in a position where it has to evolve in real time. And maybe this will help the game, but until this is addressed, the game is still going to be in a troubled state. I’m sure Liquid Swords is aware of this, and I hope this patch helps show the game in a better light.
SAMSON: A Tyndalston Story is available now on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
