While Final Fantasy VII fans eagerly wait for news of the third installment in the Remake trilogy, those in Boston this weekend are in for a treat. Briana White, voice actor for Aerith Gainsborough, will host a meet-and-greet for fans.
From 11am to 4pm eastern time this Saturday, White will appear at J.P Licks. Since the appearance is outside of the convention, no PAX East tickets are required. The ice cream shop is just a short walk from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, where PAX East is held. PAX East takes place from now until Sunday, May 11th. But fans will just have Saturday the 10th to meet Briana White.
According to a press release, fans may bring their own memorabilia and items for White to sign. Her team will also have prints for sale for her to autograph as well. They will accept both cash and card. So if you forgot your favorite Aerith poster from the Final Fantasy VII poster collection, don’t worry. She’s got your back, fam.
An Aerith Gainsborough Ice Cream Social
And since J.P. Licks sells ice cream, after all, the 397 W. Broadway location has a sweet surprise in store celebrating a certain Cetra. For this weekend only, fans may treat themselves to the Aerith Sundae. Inspired by Aerith’s signature look and the emotional heart she brings to the game, this specialty sundae features strawberry ice cream topped with fresh strawberries, raspberry sauce, whipped cream, chocolate fudge, and a final touch of yellow sprinkles—a nod to Aerith’s yellow lilies.
White has voiced Aerith Gainsborough in 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth last year. In our review of Rebirth, we noted that “the entire cast does a fantastic job bringing to life characters that gamers have known for almost 30 years.” In some ways, the character of Aerith feels even more well-realized in Rebirth than in the 1997 original. We also awarded Final Fantasy VII as our Game of the Year last year.
White’s portrayal of Aerith alone has garnered a number of awards and nominations to date. She will presumably voice Aerith again in the third installment, unless it turns out that Sephiroth intervened. In addition to voice acting, White also streams on Twitch under the moniker TheStrangeRebel.

Final Fantasy Fun at Conventions
So for those in Boston this weekend, swing by J.P Licks, treat yourself to a ice cream in honor of Aerith, and meet the talented actor who brings her to life. If you miss her there, you can catch her along with Yuffie voice actor Suzie Yeung and Tifa voice actor Britt Baron at Florida Supercon in July.
And for those attending PAX East, there’s no shortage of activity for Final Fantasy fans. Magic the Gathering will host a panel on Saturday debuting their Final Fantasy line. I can’t say for sure, but I have a feeling Aerith fans will be in for another treat…
