That’s Not the Bloodborne Hunter Set in Elden Ring Nightreign

By Keith MitchellMay 4, 2025

In the recent Elden Ring Nightreign overview trailer, we saw several familiar costumes that players will be able to dress their Wayfarers in. Outfits like the fan-favorite sunbro from Dark Souls, Solaire, and the Faraam Armor set from Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III were clearly shown.  If you’re a fan of either of those, you’re in luck. There will also be countless other outfits available to unlock.

However, I’ve seen quite a few people online getting excited, thinking the Hunter Armor from Bloodborne was also added to the game. And, well… I don’t like bursting anyone’s bubble, but that armor shown in the trailer and the image below is NOT what you think it is.

Nope, that’s not the Hunter set from Bloodborne. I’d honestly doubt Sony would allow FromSoftware to include it, since Bloodborne is still a PlayStation exclusive. So what outfit is it? I’m glad you asked. That armor actually belongs to Ringfinger Leonhard from Dark Souls III.

If you’ve played Dark Souls III, you probably remember him. He’s the guy who gives you Cracked Red Eye Orbs, the Red Eye Orb itself, and encourages players to invade other worlds, among other things. He’s not a good guy, but his outfit does look pretty cool.

There are two ways to get Leonhard’s armor in Dark Souls III. You can either kill him or finish his questline. Just in case you were wondering.

If you take a good look at the outfit from the Elden Ring Nightreign trailer, you’ll see that it matches up with that from Dark Souls III. I took the liberty of loading my copy of the game to capture a better image for you. Pay attention to the bottom of the coat, hat, and gloves. You’ll see it matches up with the one from Elden Ring Nightreign. Whereas the Bloodborne Hunter Set doesn’t have the symbols and markings on the coat, the hat looks completely different, too.

Now, this is the Bloodborne Hunter Set, and as you can see, they look completely different.

So, Bloodborne fans, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that wasn’t the Hunter outfit in the Elden Ring Nightreign overview trailer. I know it’s disappointing, but someone had to say it. And for everyone else who said it was, you need to apologize to everyone for getting their hopes up. Shame on you.

That said, you never know. Since Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) became the majority shareholder of Kadokawa, the parent company of FromSoftware, as of December 2024, maybe there’s a chance we’ll see some Bloodborne content in Elden Ring Nightreign. Just don’t hold me to it.

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30, 2025, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). Are you excited for the game, or are you still on the fence?
