Nintendo Switch 2 Continues To Dominate In The US

And the holiday season is almost here...

Nintendo Switch 2, 5 Reasons the Nintendo Switch 2 Is Absolutely Worth It

Another day, another news post talking about how well the Nintendo Switch 2 is doing. Should I really keep talking about this? Yes, I should, because as I noted on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast not too long ago, the console’s newest numbers make it clear just how well it’s doing, even with all the unnecessary hate it’s getting. If you want more proof of this, you need only look at what Circana has revealed about how the console did in the United States in the month of October.

As noted by Mat Piscatella, the system sold over 300K last month, which is impressive, considering that the system is selling out as fast as it can be restocked:

Hardware – Nintendo Switch 2 sold 328k units in October. It is 68% ahead of the sales pace set by the original Nintendo Switch and is 3% ahead of PlayStation 4’s previous record velocity.

Just as important was that the Nintendo Switch 2 sales were able to balance out the low sales of other systems in the region:

Hardware – Video game hardware spending in October grew 36% when compared a year ago, to $351M. Switch 2 was again able to offset declines across Switch (-52% versus a year ago), Xbox Series (-37%) and PlayStation 5 (-22%).

Oh, and for those wondering, Pokémon Legends Z-A was the #2 selling game in the US last month, only offset by Battlefield 6. Plus, Nintendo doesn’t reveal digital sales. But considering we know it’s well over 6 million units by this point, the breakdown doesn’t matter as much as you think.

Plus, today is the release of the next big Switch 2 exclusive, and the holiday season will drive console sales up even further. As such, you should expect more “milestone moments” to come sooner rather than later.
