Nintendo Music Adds Super Mario Bros 2 Tracks

A very curious entry in the beloved franchise.

Nintendo Music

There are a plethora of tracks on Nintendo Music that many should go and partake in. However, the latest entry is arguably one of the most unique Mario entries you’ll ever find. I speak of Super Mario Bros 2, a game that many of you might picture differently, depending on where you got it. That’s because this game has two different versions: One for Japan and one for the West. Yes, this is true, when making this game on the NES, the original version was beloved in Japan, but criticized in the US for “being too difficult” (which is all kinds of ironic nowadays,) and so it had to be reskinned.

Nintendo literally took a game that had only been released in Japan, Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, and reskinned it with Mario! Go figure, it worked! Now, 14 of the tracks from that game are on Nintendo Music:

As some, like Stealth, have noted, this likely means that Super Mario Bros 3 is on its way to the app soon. So stay tuned!
