HIKARU UTADA Joins ARCA at COACHELLA & Debuts “ELECTRICITY (ARCA REMIX)” Music Video

By Josh PiedraApril 22, 2025

Hikaru Utada made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Sunday of the celebrated gathering’s second week. This performance marked Utada’s return to Coachella for the first time in three years, following their debut appearance in 2022 at the 88rising “Head in the Clouds Forever” stage.

During their appearance, Utada joined Arca, the Barcelona-based producer who remixed Utada’s track “Electricity,” as a special guest on stage. Under the night sky at the Gobi Stage, a packed audience erupted in cheers as “Electricity (Arca Remix)” filled the desert air. The electrifying set featured an exclusive mashup performance combining “Electricity (Arca Remix),” “One Last Kiss” — the theme song from the film Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time — and “Passion,” the globally beloved theme from Kingdom Hearts II. Though appearing as a guest act, the artist delivered a standout moment of the evening, leaving the stage to thunderous applause from an ecstatic American crowd. The performance was livestreamed on YouTube, drawing widespread attention. Following the set, “#HikaruUtada” quickly began trending on X in Japan’s entertainment category, further highlighting the excitement and impact of the appearance.

In addition, the official music video for “Electricity (Arca Remix)” is NOW AVAILABLE via Hikaru Utada’s official YouTube channel.
