First Taste of Dead Space Remake Gameplay Thanks to New Trailer

Dead Space Official Gameplay Trailer

Make us whole!

EA Motiv has released its first trailer for the Dead Space remake after showing us various bits of the game and teasing for the past few months.

Watching this new gameplay trailer is nostalgic, as millions of players have already played the original Dead space game. Being quite familiar with the game, and without playing the remake, what was shown was spot-on to what I played decades ago.

Here, we can see the protagonist of the game, Isaac Clark, as he boards the USG Ishimura, and that’s when things go terribly wrong for him. Fighting off Necromorphs, trying to survive, and even talking to his girlfriend, who was in his head for the entirety of the game.

Remake as it is; EA Motiv has added a few new things to the game. A new audio system, upgraded graphics, and a new damage system called “Peeling” will allow players to remove the flesh off those based Necromorphs when shooting them. Yep, limbs won’t be the only things flying off them this time.

Looking at the trailer, you’d think this is the same game we’ve played on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Except it isn’t and has been built from the ground up using EA’s Frostbite game engine, and it will retain the original feeling, keeping the story intact while adding new additions that won’t ruin the experience.

I had planned on playing the original game again, as it has been quite some time since I’ve played it. But after watching the trailer, I think I’ll wait until the remake is released.

Dead Space remake will be released for current generation consoles, the PS5, Xbox X|S, and the PC, on January 27th, 2023
